A Vermonter has won a Nobel Prize for his work in medicine. Victor Ambros’ research led to the discovery of microRNA, tiny bits of genetic material that serve as on-and-off switches inside cells that help control what the cells do and when they do it.  Ambros grew up on a small farm in Vermont and is an alum of Woodstock Union High School. Ambros shared the honors along with American scientist Gary Ruvkun.
