WHITEFIELD — The town took over the Northwoods Estates sewer system eight months ago. This week, they gave it back. Special Town Meeting on Monday voted 49-33 to rescind town ownership of the sewer system due to cost and liability concerns. The president of the Northwoods Estates homeowners association (HOA), reacted to the decision with dismay. “Simply put, we are disappointed,” she said. The HOA, representing the owners of six completed homes and three under construction, will meet this week to discuss the next steps. Litigation is not planned at this time.
