LYNDON — The Planning Commission is considering minor upgrades for Depot Street due to a lack of support and resources for a larger initiative. Planning Administrator Tracy Bodeo has recommended applying for a Downtown Transportation Fund grant of up to $200,000. She suggested the funds could be used for pedestrian improvements, such as ornamental street lights and permanent crosswalks. The Select Board has already authorized Bodeo to submit for this grant, which requires a 20 percent match from the town. Applications are due in March. Bodeo sees the Downtown Transportation Fund grant as a valuable first step toward transforming Depot Street into a more walkable and vibrant area.
