LYNDON — The Lyndon Electric Department (LED) is laying the groundwork for a third rate hike in three years, following two consecutive hikes approved by the Public Utilities Commission. At a recent Electric Commission meeting, General Manager Jon Elwell indicated that discussions are already underway with the non-profit Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA) regarding the necessary rate adjustments. Lyndon Electric plans to file for the new rate increase after completing its audit for 2024. The anticipated hike is aimed at addressing a projected $500,000 increase in power purchase costs anticipated for 2025.
