NEK Broadband capped off a busy month by celebrating its 500th customer last week, shortly after completing its successful merger with CV Fiber on Aug. 16. NEK Broadband held a party to commemorate its service being installed at Peacham Cafe. Thanks to NEK Broadband, the cafe now provides WiFi for its customers and those who don’t yet have it available at home. Every town in the Kingdom has a community representative on the NEK Broadband Board of Governors. Ideas are discussed and decisions are made, not just by staff but also by board members. NEK Broadband says it has moved beyond the initial planning stages begun a few years ago and is now successfully partnering with Vermont companies hanging the fiber-optic lines on utility poles and installing the routers in homes.
