LYNDON – The Lyndon Electric Department (LED) has started evaluating candidates for the open General Manager position, which has been vacant since former GM Jon Elwell’s unexpected departure on Feb. 19. The Electric Commission reported that 24 candidates have applied for the role. The commission conducted an initial review of the applicants in a closed session on Monday and will soon announce the hiring process and timeline. The search for a new General Manager comes as LED prepares to file for a rate increase for the third time in three years, primarily to address rising power purchase costs.
