LITTLETON — During Monday’s Select Board meeting, the police department demonstrated its new laser drug analyzer. In February, Littleton police announced the new handheld laser drug testing device that can scan suspected narcotics on the spot for instant probable cause and arrest, rather than having to send the substance to the state lab and wait two months for results. With the TruNarc device now in hand, thanks to a grant from Grafton County at no taxpayer expense, Littleton Police Detective-Sergeant Scott Powers gave a demonstration for residents. With a lifetime of free updates, the device also allows them to keep up on new drugs and drug mixtures and new trends, which can occur daily.
