BURKE—The Select Board will meet on April 7 to discuss the potential opening of town roads to all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The discussion comes three months after a group of residents first proposed allowing ATV access on town-maintained roads. To gauge community sentiment, the resident group conducted a survey that received 166 responses. Of those, 104 supported ATV access, while 62 were opposed. If public support is strong, the Select Board may consider revising the town’s current ATV ordinance, which prohibits road access for ATVs. The board has the authority to determine where, when, and how ATVs may operate.
